When I speak of the erotic ...I speak . . . of the life

force of women . . . the knowledge and use of which we are now reclaiming in

our language, our history, our dancing our loving, our work, our lives

Audre Lorde

How has our sexuality been shaped by our experiences as womxn of color living in racist, capitalist and patriarchal societies? How can we reawaken the divine sexual energy that is our birthright - and what dharmic, ancestral practices can we use to support our healing? Join us for a half-day of wisdom teachings, movement practices, mindfulness meditation, and creative writing and sharing as we celebrate and reclaim our sacred life energy. Bring an object that represents your relationship to your sexuality - current or aspirational - and writing or art supplies.

100% of our programming is sliding scale and no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds. Thank you for the gifts of your generosity and for supporting the work of East Bay Meditation Center and our beloved teachers who have volunteered their time. Carol Cano began her practice 30 years ago at Wat Kow Tahm in Thailand and has actively engaged in building communities and teaching Dharma internationally. She has completed a myriad of training programs at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and is currently participating in their Retreat Teacher Training. Carol is a core teacher and was a former board member of East Bay Meditation Center. Her unique teachings are deeply grounded in Basque, Native American and Buddhist influences that braid the Dharma along indigenous wisdom and Earth-based practices. Carol reminds us to keep grounded in our hearts as we uphold spiritual ideals and encourages us to remain balanced within the demands of modern life.
